Google Play requires an app icon and phone screenshots to publish. The feature graphic is needed only if you add a promo video. Tablet screenshots are optional but unlock tablet ranking and the tablet-optimized badge.

Google Play Console requirements
- Maximum 8 MB per screenshot.
- The feature graphic is a separate 1024 x 500 banner. It is required when you add a promo video (it becomes the video poster) and is used in promotional placements, but it is not shown on a plain listing.

What screenshot sizes does the App Store require in 2026?
Practically, you only need one set: the iPhone 6.9" set at 1320 x 2868 px. That is the only iPhone display size Apple still asks for. The 6.5", 6.3", and 5.5" sizes are accepted but optional, because App Store Connect reuses your largest set on the smaller devices unless you override it.
Why do my App Store screenshots keep getting rejected?
Almost always one of three things. The pixel dimensions are off by even one (App Store Connect does not round or pad, so 1320 x 2867 fails), the file has an alpha channel or transparency, or it is not in the RGB color space. Export a flat RGB JPEG or PNG at the exact size and the upload goes through.
What size should Google Play screenshots be?
Phone screenshots are required, 2 to 8 of them. 1080 x 1920 px (9:16) is the always-safe default, but Play also accepts the taller iPhone ratio such as 1290 x 2796 px, so you can reuse one design for both stores. The hard limits are that each side sits between 320 and 3840 px and each file is under 8 MB with no transparency. Do App Store and Google Play use the same screenshot sizes?
Not identical, but you can share one design. Do I have to upload every iPhone size?
No. Upload the largest size, the 6.9" iPhone set, and Apple scales it down to the smaller devices automatically. Only add a smaller size when you want pixel-perfect framing on that specific device, which then overrides the scaled-down version.
